Measures to fast-track EEC infrastructure on the table | Bangkok Post: business

Kobsak: Working hard to speed up schemeThe government says it will decide by year-end how to shorten the public-private partnership (PPP) process for the construction of infrastructure projects in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Kobsak Phutrakul, assistant minister to the Prime Minister's Office, said the EEC Management Committee will do its best to work out the fast-track PPP scheme for planned development projects in the EEC. Earlier in March, the committee pledged to shorten the public-private partnership (PPP) process necessary for EEC infrastructure projects to undergo construction. The government last year invoked Section 44 of the interim constitution to expedite EEC projects. On April 5, the EEC Policy Committee chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha approved an 8-billion-baht budget for a second runway at U-tapao airport.
